Purple stripe hardneck variety. This one is a Squared Roots Farm favorite in cooking garlic with out adding a ton of heat to a dish. It is a full flavored garlic with a mellow after taste. Eaten raw it has lots of fire taste! Chesnok Red produces larger cloves with 8-10 easy to peel cloves. Very flavorful! Collected in 1985 in the village of Shvelisi in the southern republic of Georgia.
